DreamWorks Announces FTA Channel Block In Thailand
Thailand’s leading broadcaster to launch first daily free-to-air programming block in Asia.
BANGKOK, THAILAND – Channel 3, Thailand’s leading free-to-air broadcaster has teamed with CTH and DreamWorks Animation (DWA) to broadcast a daily block of DWA’s original television series. Programming will launch weekdays on Channel 3 in March 2016 with two signature original series: All Hail King Julien, starring the world’s biggest party animal from the hugely successful Madagascar theatrical films; and The Adventures of Puss in Boots, featuring the sword-fighting feline fortune-hunter made famous by the Shrek franchise. Dragons: Race to the Edge, inspired by DWA’s critically-acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon franchise, will launch weekends on Channel 3. The DWA-branded programming block will air Monday through Friday from 5:30pm to 6:00pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:20am to 7:50am.
“We are honored to be working with Channel 3 and CTH to bring DreamWorks Animation’s original television series to the leading network in Thailand,” said Eric Ellenbogen, Co-Head, International TV DreamWorks Animation. “Just as CTH was the first affiliate in Asia to carry the DreamWorks Channel, Channel 3 now becomes the first network in Asia to feature a free-to-air programming block of DWA shows. Once again, Thailand leads the way in expanding access to DreamWorks’ beloved content.”
"DreamWorks Animation has crafted some of the world’s most cherished stories and characters, and we could not be prouder to be the first network in Asia to carry a DreamWorks free-to-air programming block," said Surin Krittayaphongphun, the Executive Vice President of Channel 3 (The Bangkok Entertainment Co, Ltd). "Their original television series will be a great addition to the lineup of high quality programming our audiences have come to expect from Channel 3."
